Joseph M. Bean, age 90, husband of the late Mildred (Urner) Bean, of Lower Pottsgrove, formerly of Kimberton and Spring City, PA, died Saturday evening, June 7th, 2008 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Pottstown, PA.? Born in Spring City, he was a son of the late Isaac D. and Cora (Miller) Bean.? He attended school in Spring City.? A veteran, Mr. Bean served for the U.S. Army during World War II.? He was the last living charter member of the Royersford Church of the Nazarene. He and his wife were very active members at the Church for many years.? Mr. Bean was also a member of the Gideon International - Pottstown Camp.?
Mr. Bean owned and operated the former Bean's Garage in Spring City for a number of years with his brother Isaac.? He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.?
Mr. Bean is survived by; Three sons; Douglas J., husband of Carol A. (O'Donnell) Bean, of LaGrangeville, NY, Rev. Kenneth L., husband of Sandra J. (Gregory) Bean, of Bangor, PA, Gary L., husband of Elouise (Ondrusek) Bean, of Spring City, one sister; Elizabeth M. , wife of George G. Dengler, of Spring City, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.? Mr. Bean was pre-deceased by four brothers; Amos, Earl, Willis, Isaac Bean, and one sister, Mary Marlow.? Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Royersford Church of the Nazarene, Fifth Avenue and Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Thursday, June 12th, ?2008 at 10AM.? Officiating will be his son, Rev. Kenneth L. Bean.? Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring City.? Friends will be received from 7:00 - 8:30 PM, Wednesday evening at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA, or from 9:00 - 9:45AM, Thursday morning at the Church.?
