?Joseph Simon, 78, of Phoenixville, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008.? Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Simon.?
Mr. Simon served in the United States Navy between World War II and the Korean War.? He then was employed as a machinist at Phoenix Steel Corporation until his retirement at its closing.? A craftsman, Mr. Simon enjoyed fixing broken things, tools, equipment, and home repair.? He was also a member of the Hungarian American Club, a volunteer fireman at Friendship Fire Co., where he held the office of President during the 1950's, enjoyed taking five mile walks around town with his firehouse friends, whittling walking sticks, and enjoyed painting.?
Mr. Simon is survived by his sister, Ethel Sabo, of Phoenixville, niece, Michele (Sabo) DiDonato, of Douglassville, and nephews, John Sabo, III, of Phoenixville and David A. Sabo, of Phoenixville.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 1:30 PM.? Officiating will be Rev. Yolanda Durante.? Interment will follow in Morris Cemetery.? Friends may call from 1-1:30 PM at the funeral home.?
