Obituary

Josephine J. (LaRosa) Esposito, age 90, wife of the late Robert Paul Esposito, of Collegeville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Born on March 16, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of Andrea and Grazia (Vasta) LaRosa.

Mrs. Esposito "Josie" was a talented seamstress making wedding gowns and clothing for all the top manufacturers for many years until retirement. She was extremely good at her craft and created exceptional clothing for her two daughters. She continued her friendship with the ladies through the years and especially loved her friend, Joanne (Jean) Parenti. They were friends for over 70 years, spoke often and would laugh for hours. She was an exceptional wife, devoted mother and friend. Josie worked very hard all of her life always with a smile on her face. We always appreciated her delicious food and she cooked almost every day up until this past year. She loved listening to music with her husband Bob, and always sang along with her beautiful voice. She never cared about "things" or what others had since growing up in the depression era. She didn't expect much and was always appreciative. Josie was never dull, a real character and loved to make people laugh! We are so grateful to have her as such an incredible role model who was a pillar of strength, selfless, kind, honest and taught us the importance of family. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us.

Mrs. Esposito is survived by three children, Robert S., husband of Susan Esposito of Danville, CA, Valerie Rogers of Collegeville, PA, and Andrea, wife of Michael Raquet of Collegeville, PA; three grandchildren, Gina N. (Esposito) Vavricka, wife of Zachary Vavricka, Lisa V. Raquet, and Dr. Robert A. Esposito; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose Vavricka. Mrs. Esposito was preceded in death by four siblings, Lena Vassallo, Fred LaRosa, Barbara Cuneo, and Joseph LaRosa.

A private funeral service for immediate family only will take place. The burial will be open to the public, and those wishing to attend can meet the procession at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064 on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at approximately 11:45 AM.
