Joyce A. Sands, age 86, wife of the late Earl J. Sands, of Kimberton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in the Manatawny Manor Center for Rehab and Nursing, Pottstown, PA. Born on January 14, 1939 in Phoenixville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Emery) Miller.
Mrs. Sands worked in the dietary department at Phoenixville Hospital for 25 years before her retirement. She was a faithful member of Centennial Lutheran Church in Kimberton, where she was a member her entire life and where she and her husband of 59 years prior to his passing were married.
Mrs. Sands was life member of the Kimberton Fire Company. She had a passion for making the donuts and could often be found helping with her favorite part, which was powdering the donuts. Along with her husband, she enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. She was an avid golfer and bingo player.
As a proud mom, grandmom, great-grandmom, and great-great grandmom, Mrs. Sands truly lived for her family. She always played the role of caretaker and loved helping others. She was a fantastic baker and made the best chocolate eclairs. Solace is found in the knowledge that she is now with her husband, who she has sorely missed for the past nine years.
Mrs. Sands is survived by two children, Earl J. "Jim" Sands, Jr. and Debra, wife of Jay Pollinger; daughter-in-law, Michelle Sands, wife of the late Scott Sands; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Sands, Josh (Taylor) Sands, Hannah Sands, Justin Sands, Jordan Sands, Mason Sands, Joe (Amy) Pollinger, Jessica (Tim) Huff; eleven great-grandchildren, Ava & Ellyse Sands, Madalynn, Lindsay, Alaina & Caleb Pollinger, Connor, Jaxon, Hallie, Emily (Tonya), & Dylan Huff; and one great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Huff. In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Leon Miller and Karen Readinger.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Centennial Lutheran Church, P.O.
