Joyce (Slemmer) Blumenthal, 82, wife of Martin D. Blumenthal, of Chester Springs, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Born on June 12, 1934 in Kimberton, she was a daughter of the late D. Sidney and Dorothy (Beitler) Slemmer.

Mrs.Blumenthal enjoyed gardening and spent a lot of time in her flower garden. She was an avid bridge player and former president of Ludwigs Corner Fire Company Ladies' Auxiliary. She made all holidays special to her family by hosting Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas at her home and was cherished by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Blumenthal is survived by her children: Karen, wife of Jim Saylor, of Pottstown, and Robert, husband of Mary Jane Blumenthal, of Glenmoore; three grandchildren: Victoria Rinehart and Evan and Arden Blumenthal; three great-grandchildren: Marek, Auralia & Pheonix; and sisters: Joan Harrop, of Beach Haven, NJ, Sydney Cagle, of Chester Springs and Sandra Miller, of Cleveland, TN. She was preceded in death by one sister, Anna May Houck.

A farewell gathering will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Griffith Hall, Ludwigs Corner Fire Company, 1325 Pottstown Pike, Glenmoore, PA 19343.
