JOYCE BRITCHER MILEY

Joyce Eileen (Britcher) Miley of Pottstown, age 51, widow of John E. Miley, lost her battle with heart failure late Wednesday night at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by friends and family.

Born in Royersford to the late Lawrence Britcher, Jr. and Jeanne (Tyson) Britcher, she attended Western Montco VoTech School, and graduated from Spring-Ford Area School District in 1975.

Joy worked for Giant Food Store in Pottstown for 18 years, until disabled by her illness. Although retired for more than two years, she remained a member of the Giant family, who loved and supported her.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Shelby, whom she considered life's greatest gift. She is also survived by her brother, L. Gary Britcher, of Linfield, and his wife, Jane, as well as her nephews, Brian Britcher and Michael Britcher, Linfield, and her loving companion, Shaun Lyter.

An active, energetic participant in Shelby's sports and clubs, Joy touched lives and amassed friendships with her boundless generosity and mischievous wit. She will be remembered and missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Monday, August 17, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. James Roth. Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 11:o0 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
