Juan R. "John" Martinez, age 68, of Norristown, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 in the Suburban Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Norriton, PA. Born on February 5, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Juan and Natalie (Quartarone) Martinez.

John served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, and prior to retirement, he had worked in the maintenance department for Montgomery Hospital. In the past, John loved vacationing with family and friends, and more recently he enjoyed fishing, photography, completing crossword puzzles, and watching his favorite television shows and movies.

John is survived by one son, Christopher (Angela) Martinez of Royersford, PA; three grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa, and Nicolas Martinez; four siblings, Vincent Martinez, Joann Gigante, Natalie Stamato, and Antoinette Sitez; and his loving "nieces", Heather Ramsey, Jennifer Spry and Amanda Spry. John was preceded in death by his former wife and close friend, Diane Martinez.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 10:30 am - 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
