Judith E. Di Sandri, age 85, wife of the late Antal G. Di Sandri, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the Paoli Hospital, Paoli PA. Born on December 14, 1930 in Bekescsaba, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Mihaly and Maria (Tyirjak) Zsiros. She was an exceptionally gifted student. She met, fell in love and married her late husband Antal in February 1952 and remained happily married for 58 years until his passing in 2010.
In 1956, during the Hungarian Revolution, she along with her husband Antal and her two infant children, courageously fled and escaped the inevitable, oppressive communist invasion of Hungary.
She settled with her family in Phoenixville, PA, where she remained an active member of the Hungarian community until her death. Judith worked hard and achieved the American dream. She retired after a distinguished career from Wyeth Laboratories where she worked as an information technology professional. She was universally acknowledge and respected as an incredibly wise, caring, loving and proud mother of her children, grandchildren, and great grandson.
Mrs. Di Sandri is survived by her son, Anthony J. Di Sandri, three grandchildren, Katie Bruce Hardin and Lauren and Alex Bruce, one great grandson, Cooper F. Hardin and son-in-law, David C. Bruce. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Judith A. Bruce and six siblings.
Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service to be held at 1:00 PM Saturday March 19, 2016 at the Parkside United Church of Christ, 505 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. The memorial service will be followed by a commemorative reception beginning at 2:30 PM at Ristorante Primavera, 384 West Lancaster Avenue in Wayne, Pa. 19087.
