Karl W. Wieland, 79, of Trooper, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Montgomery Hospital. He was the husband of Gerlinde (Schillinger) Wieland, with whom he shared fifty-three years of marriage.

He was born in Auenwald, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Pauline (Erb) Wieland. After graduating high school he completed a three year carpenter apprenticeship. Mr. Wieland immigrated to the US in 1953. He served in the Army during the Korean War and attended Temple University. Mr. Wieland was a union carpenter working in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. He was a member of the Steuben Society of America and the Audubon Optimist Club.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Linda R. Pisciotta (Joseph) of Cranford, NJ; Karen A. Tate, of Chester Springs; Mark K. Wieland (Cathleen), of Royersford; grandson, Joseph K. Pisciotta; sister, Brunhilde Wieland, of Germany and brothers: Herbert and Albrecht Wieland both of Germany.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge Park. Friends may call from 10:30-11:00 AM.
