Larry E. Garlinghouse, age 73, of Boyertown, PA passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Iowa, he was a son of the late Robert and Aliene (Thompson) Garlinghouse.

Mr. Garlinghouse served in the United States Air Force. He then went on to a career as a welder, a job he had for nearly 50 years until his retirement three years ago. He was a member at the Gilbertsville Fire Company and the Sassamansville Fire Company. He was known by all who knew him as "Crazy Larry", and was an avid reader.

Mr. Garlinghouse is survived by 8 children, 28 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, one brother, one step-sister, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial gathering at the Gilbertsville Fire Company, 1454 E. Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, PA 19525 on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
