Laura J. (Driscoll) Hanley, 59, wife of the late James R. Hanley, of Royersford, passed away on Tuesday November 23, 2010, at home. Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of Margaret Driscoll of Spring City and the late Edward Driscoll.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Hanley is survived by: her daughter: Lori wife of Steven Tomlinson, of Birchrunville; brother: Edward Driscoll, of Narvon; sister's Doreen Rambo of Phoenixville, and Karol Driscoll of Parkerford; and long time family friend of Robin (Klick) Suloman of Pottstown.
Mrs. Hanley was a graduate of Reading School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse formerly with Community Visiting Nurses specializing in hospice care; she was her own, very special, last patient, largely overseeing her own care.
Laura was a resourceful homemaker, creating many of her young daughters clothing, and was an accomplished baker and cake decorator. Laura was proud of her many gardens which are currently recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as Certified Wildlife Habitats. Throughout her life Laura had a compassion for all people and animals, lending a hand to all in need. Her care for others in need was professional and tireless, and was awarded the Essence of Humanity award. She was actively involved in the care and spaying of a large number of stray cats that found their way to the comforts of her celebrated gardens. Mrs. Hanley enjoyed fishing with her late husband and supported his many hobbies. She enjoyed her many trips to Disney World with friends and family. She will be remembered as confident and determined, compromising and compassionate, accepting and loving, always.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Hanley's funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Matthew Polder.
