It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurice Tawadros, beloved wife, mother, and friend on April 18, 2024, at the age of 90. She left this world surrounded by love and joined her dear husband, Samir Tawadros, in Heaven. Laurice was born in 1934 into a world of strife, but she was a pillar of warmth and strength to all who knew her. She lived a remarkable life and always put others before herself. She was one of seven children, born to Jadallah and Farida Abu Dayeh in Israel. Throughout her life, she exemplified what it meant to love others with the love of Jesus.

In 1969, she married Samir in Lebanon, and together, they began an amazing journey of 29 years that would take them from their respective families in Israel and Egypt to America. They bought their first and only home together in 1970 in King of Prussia, where they built a life for themselves and their two children. Their lives were not without challenges, but by God's grace, they thrived and gave generously to those in need and did so quietly - never seeking fanfare. They served others because of their great love for God and how He miraculously provided for them individually and as husband and wife. Their commitment to each other and family, here and abroad, was a staple in the Tawadros household. That commitment did not fade, even after Samir died in 1998.

In her long career as a Registered Nurse, and well into retirement, Laurice poured her life into serving others. She was a nurse anesthetist and midwife at the state hospital in Jerusalem and became Assistant Director of Nursing at a major hospital in Kuwait. After coming to America, she cared passionately for others, working as a nurse in many disciplines. She also spent more than 15 years as a volunteer chaplain at surrounding hospitals, praying with individuals and families in their time of need. She never shied away from sharing the Gospel of Christ and had the privilege of seeing many come to salvation. Most people check to ensure they have their house keys and wallet before leaving; Laurice always made sure to have a few pocket Bibles and tracts to share with others. To her, that was far more important than anything else.

As a mother, she epitomized selflessness and guidance and set her children on the right course of following after Jesus from their earliest days. She poured her life into raising her children, imparting not just a need for faith in Jesus but the importance of putting that faith into practice. Her love knew no bounds, and she often worked double and triple shifts to supplement Samir's growing business as a printer and his full-time job at a local newspaper.

Her legacy lives on through the countless memories shared with her adoring family and the lives she touched. Her unshakable faith and loving spirit made an indelible mark on every person, even the nursing staff who cared for her in her final days. She would always tell them how wonderful they were, pray for them, and ask about their families, even though her health was failing. Even in pain, she put their needs ahead of her own.

While we mourn her loss, we take great comfort in knowing that she is now in Heaven, reunited with loved ones, and most importantly, that she has been made completely new, finally experiencing complete and perfect peace in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Laurice is predeceased by her husband Samir, and brothers Issa, Victor, and Sami. She is survived by her children Rick (Elizabeth) and Patty (Tony), her three sisters Asma, Farha, and Victoria along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom still reside in the Middle East, her brother-in-law Selim and nephews Fred and Mike, and her dear niece Freeda.

A celebration of Laurice's life will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at New Story Church (110 Valley Park Road Phoenixville, PA, 19460), where family and friends will gather to honor her legacy and share cherished memories. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Bible Society (americanbible.org) in honor of Laurice's lifelong commitment to sharing the Gospel with others.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Laurice's love and spirit will live on in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
