Leo W. "Smitty" Henning, age 87, husband of the late Peggy J. (Killmon) Henning, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 11, 1931 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Frederick & Carrie (Logue) Henning.
Leo served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War where he was stationed in Okinawa before he was honorably discharged in 1954. After his military service, Leo went on to work for National Rolling Mills in Malvern, and would later start as an electrical foreman for A.E Staley, and would later retire with the BF Goodrich Company. Leo was also a member of the Norristown Masonic Lodge 620 F & AM where he was a 32nd Degree Allentown Lehigh Valley Mason in which he was very proud of. Leo was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear friend to all and will be missed by many.
Leo is survived by his Daughter, Kathy L. (James) Lynch; one Son, Frederick C. (Kim) Henning; Three Granddaughters, Kristin, Kelly, and Amy; and two Great-grandchildren, Madelyn, and Jesse
In addition to his loving wife and parents, Leo was preceded in death by his two siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Ralph W. Owens. Burial will be held in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 11:00 am Friday at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home
