Obituary

Leon C. Freed, 77, husband of Sarah A. "Sally" (Kopp) Freed, of Phoenixville, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, in the Parkhouse Providence Pointe. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Leon and Agnes (Hildebrand) Freed.

Mr. Freed was a 1950 graduate of West Catholic High School For Boys in Philadelphia. He was employed at BF Goodrich and was a member of St. Ann Church. An avid sports fan, he followed Philadelphia Sports, Notre Dame Football, and played recreational softball in Phoenixville for the Clippers. Mr. Freed was a member of the Slovak Club, Friendship and West End Fire Companies, and loved his pets and family.

In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, Mr. Freed is survived by a daughter, Kate wife of Ted Jensen of Baltimore, three sons, Harry Freed of Phoenixville, Daniel Freed of Limerick, and Timothy husband of Amanda Freed of Sinking Spring, and one grandson, Tyler Jensen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John J. Newns. Interment will follow in the St. Ann Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made in his name to the West End Fire Company, 801 W. Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
