Lewis C. "Pete" Walker, husband of Elizabeth (Worth) Walker, died Tuesday December 15, 2009 in East Norriton. He was 93.

Born in Spring City on April 24, 1916, he was a son of the late Charles I. and Olive (Quay) Walker. He attended the Phoenixville High School Class of 1934.

A veteran, he served as Corp. in the U.S. Marines aboard the Aircraft Carrier San Jacinto in the South Pacific during World War II. As a gunner, he sustained injuries which left him permanently disabled.

Before retiring he was employed by Synthane Corporation, Oaks, PA as foreman in the Printing and Engraving Departments with 46 years of service.

He was a member of the Ettinger, Campbell, Powers VFW Post #1564, Phoenixville, PA, a life member of Disabled American Veterans Post #25, Norristown, PA, and the Phoenixville Old Timers A.A.

He was a talented man who took 5 years to build his home in Audubon, PA. He also enjoyed refinishing antiques, and being with family and friends.

In addition to his wife Elizabeth of 65 years, he is survived by two children: Barbara Divida, of Wilbraham, MA and Constance McDowell of Norristown, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings: George E. Walker, Ethel R. Detwiler and Earl "Tillie" Walker.
