Dr. Linda Joy (Rosenwald) Weinberg

Linda Joy (Rosenwald) Weinberg, age 75, wife of the late Hon. Marc A. Weinberg, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Elm Terrace Gardens in North Wales. Born on April 27, 1951, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Sonia (Glass) and Nathan Rosenwald.

Linda was a horsewoman from the time she was a small child, and she liked to say that once you're a horse person, it's in your blood. Hers ran incurably. That love, and a pull toward the land, brought her and Marc to East Vincent Township in Chester County in the early 1970s, where they raised their three children on a farm that was rarely quiet and never predictable. Over the years it held horses and dogs above all, but also sheep, goats, chickens, peacocks, a llama, and a pig, and at one point an aviary and beehives that made their own honey. Lambs were bottle-fed in the living room. Something was always arriving, and Linda was delighted by all of it.

She came to nursing later than most, and once she found it she never stopped. She earned seven degrees, culminating in a PhD in nursing science, the accomplishment she was proudest of. A nurse practitioner specializing in wound care, she worked in gene therapy research, taught nursing at the graduate level, practiced in dermatology and psychiatry, and served as a Jewish congregational nurse.

For years she was a visiting nurse in Philadelphia, bringing care directly to patients in their own homes and meeting them wherever they were, with dignity and without judgment. No neighborhood or patient demographic was off limits to Linda's care. She believed access should never be the reason someone went without. She covered medications for patients who couldn't afford them and quietly bought household necessities out of her own pocket for those who needed them.

Fortuitously, her training also prepared her for the work closest to home. Marc, whom she met in Hebrew school as a teenager and had been with ever since, fell suddenly ill in 1986 and underwent a heart transplant. Linda devoted her expertise to keeping him healthy for the seventeen years that followed.

She was a renaissance woman in the truest sense, as devoted to her animals, her land, and her many pursuits as she was to medicine, and endlessly curious about all of it.

Linda is survived by her children: Craig, husband of Ilana Weinberg; Maggie Weinberg; and Kate, wife of Jonathan Katz; her grandchildren: Mara, Ava, Zoe, and Dylan; and her sisters: Merle, wife of Dr. Bruce Kornberg; Deborah, wife of Dr. Edward Gentile; and Nancy, wife of Dr. Jose Armstrong.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sunday, August 2, at 12:30 PM, at Congregation Beth Or, 239 E. Welsh Road, Ambler, PA 19002.
