Obituary

Lois (Bebout) McManus, age 95, wife of the late J. Bradley McManus, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Marion (Grant) Bebout.

Mrs. McManus served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a flight nurse. Aboard the Queen Mary, on the way to England during the war, she met J. Bradley McManus, whom she married in London. Following their return from the war, she raised nine children before returning to work briefly as a nurse. With a contagious sense of humor, she was the quintessential comedian. She was a giving person, always thinking of others before herself. She loved animals, especially her cats, enjoyed reading and golfing, and her cooking was loved by all.

Mrs. McManus is survived by Six Daughters, Suzanne O'Neill of Phoenixville, PA, Jean Shannon of San Diego, CA, Polly, wife of Fran McGowen of Malvern, PA, Donna McManus, wife of Rick Stimpfle of Arlington, MA, Mary, wife of Chuck Paski of Wilmington, DE, and Madeleine, wife of Mike Spitz of Phoenixville, PA; three sons, Buddy, husband of Jacki McManus of Spokane, WA, Tom McManus of Newtown Square, PA, and David, husband of Susan McManus of Berwyn, PA; one sister-in-law, Rita McManus; two brother-in-laws, Msgr. Robert McManus and Jack Reynolds; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats Cleo and Lulu. Mrs. McManus was preceded in death by two siblings, Glenn Bebout and Gladys Norton.
