Obituary

Louis J. Caparoni Sr., age 85, husband of the late Eileen L. (Zurla) Caparoni, of Mont Clare, PA, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born on September 6, 1937 in Plains, PA, he was a son of the late Nello and Orella (Barbacci) Caparoni.

Mr. Caparoni was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Plains, PA. He received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Scranton. He worked as an electrical engineer for ICI Americas, Inc. in Audubon, PA, where he was instrumental in several patents, including the exploding dye packs used in banks and designs relating to automobile air bags. Mr. Caparoni was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, attending his last game on his 85th birthday this past September. He loved tinkering on things and fixing things while working around the house. He enjoyed reading and World War II history. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Mr. Caparoni is survived by five children, Diane, wife of Kevin Canney Sr. of Mont Clare, PA, Lou Caparoni, fiancé of Kelly Furey of Phoenixville, PA, Ken, husband of Stephanie Caparoni of Thousand Oaks, CA, David Caparoni, husband of Joseph Golas of Palm Springs, CA, and Daniel, husband of Amy Caparoni of Creedmoor, NC; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Canney Jr., Brian Canney, fiancé of Melanie Teti, Alysse Caparoni, Kayla Caparoni, Katie Caparoni, Joey Caparoni, Ashley, wife of Josh Buck, Tyler Caparoni, Nello Caparoni, Nicco Caparoni, and Lucca Caparoni; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harper, and Finley; one brother, James, husband of Corinne Caparoni of Exeter, PA and one sister-in-law, Carol Caparoni of Kenvil, NJ. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Caparoni.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 am in the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Officiating will be Rev. John Hutter. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Black Rock Cemetery, Phoenixville. Friends will be received in the church from 8:00 am - 9:45 am on Tuesday morning.
