Obituary

Lucina I. McCarthy, age 86, wife of the late Gordon K. McCarthy, Sr., of Oaks, PA, formerly Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA. Born on March 4, 1931 in Mineral del Monte, Hidalgo, México, she was a daughter of the late Baltazar Islas and Carmen Venegas.

Mrs. McCarthy moved to the United States from Mexico in 1960. Her faith being very important to her, she was a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville and was a former member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Philadelphia prior to moving to Phoenixville. She loved taking care of, spending time with, and cooking for her family. She looked forward to new births in the family, as she loved being around babies. Mrs. McCarthy also enjoyed crocheting.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by five children, Patricia, wife of Daniel Bell of Philadelphia, PA, Lilly Crisman of Croydon, PA, Zena, wife of Stephen Alt of Oaks, PA, Gordon K. Jr., husband of Wendy McCarthy of Upper Chichester, PA, and Robert Jr., husband of Barbara Hund of New Gretna, NJ; nine grandchildren, Salvatore, Regina, wife of James, Chris, Pat, Hannah, Stephanie, wife of Shaun, Michael, husband of Sandra, Rebecca, and Robert III; nine great-grandchildren, Danny, D'Angelo, Shaun Jr., Angelina, Anthony, Andrew, Michael Jr., Jason, and Adam. Mrs. McCarthy was preceded in death by one grandson, Stefano,and four siblings, Herlinda Islas Venegas, María de Jesús Islas Venegas, Trinidad Islas Vengas, and Miguel Islas Vengas.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Ann Chapel, 604 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA or on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 9:45 am - 10:45 am in the Chapel.
