Luise (Guenther) Sanders, age 90, wife of the late Harold Sanders of Limerick, PA, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe, Limerick, PA. Born on April 12, 1935 in Wittlich, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Katharina (Weinand) Guenther.

Luise and Harold met in Germany while Harold was serving in the United States Air Force and stationed there during the Korean War. Even though they did not share a common language at first, they fell deeply in love and were married in Germany. After beginning their life together overseas, they eventually settled in Phoenixville to be near one of Luise's relatives, building a home and future side by side for 66 years.

Mrs. Sanders loved to cook and was known for her world famous German potato salad, which was always made for family meals and could never be duplicated. She loved baking Christmas cookies, was an avid gardener, and took pride in her flowers.

Luise enjoyed watching the news and game shows each night, never missing Jeopardy, and staying on top of current events - even knowing the names of the recent Winter Olympic athletes. She also found joy watching cooking shows, QVC, and her beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Luise kept sharp by completing jigsaw puzzles and recently ignited a passion for playing bingo at Arcadia.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by two sons, Michael D. Sanders, husband of Karen and Thomas P. Sanders, husband of Jennifer Escarge; three granddaughters: Kristen, wife of Kevin Bates, Julie, wife of Brad Gery, and Julia Depro; three great-grandchildren: Remi, Wesley, and Vivian; and a brother: Josef Guenther. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Shirley A. Sanders-Benton; grandson: Jeffrey T. Benton; and two brothers: Peter Guenther and Heinrich Guenther.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 am, in St. Ann Cemetery, 300 Pothouse Road, Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Luise's name to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS), 101 Buchanan Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
