Lydia Alma Ward, age 80, wife of the late James J. Ward, Sr., of Royersford, Pennsylvania, formerly Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on August 6, 1936 in Warsaw, Poland, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Jadwiga (Jasiewicz) Abrolat.
Mrs. Ward worked as a waitress at the Horn and Hardart Cafe in Philadelphia for many years. She also worked in the Hallmark section of the Bon Shopping Center in Upper Darby. She enjoyed baking and cooking, and loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She adored her toy fox terrier Ruby, who will miss her dearly.
Mrs. Ward is survived by two daughters, Lydia A. Ward and Alice M. Ward, both of Royersford, PA; two siblings, Alfred, husband of Marge Abrolat of Cape May, NJ and Alice, wife of the late Carmen Crisci of Royersford, PA; two grandsons, Thomas (Megan) Basquill Jr. of West Chester, PA and James J. Basquill of Royersford, PA; and one great-granddaughter, Tessa Basquill. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by one son, James J. Ward, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, Pennsylvania on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Monday at the funeral home.
