M. "Wilmer" Beard, Jr., husband of Fay M. (Dell) Beard, of Pottstown, PA died Wednesday afternoon, April 14, 2010 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Spring City, he was a son of the late M. "Wilmer" and Grace (Latshaw) Beard. He was a 1946 graduate of the Spring City High School. A veteran, he served for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Beard worked at the Firestone Plant which became The Occidental Company in Pottstown. He retired as a supervisor in 1993 after 33 years of service. Mr. Beard enjoyed hunting and was president of the New Kilborn Hunting Club in Potter County. He was an avid Philadelphia Flyers and Eagles fan. His passion was his family. Being a "jack of all trades", he loved to help his family. He was a devoted family man all of his life.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Mr. Beard is survived by five children; M. Wilmer "Buster" Beard, III, husband of Stacy Beard of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, Ricky J., husband of Donna Beard of Spring City, Randy L., husband of Catherine Beard, of North Coventry, James A. Beard, of Pottstown, Fay M. Stoudt, of Birdsboro, three siblings; Reda, wife of John Sypherd, Doug, husband of Mary Lois Beard, Richard, husband of Shirley Beard. He was a loving "pop-pop" to eight grandchildren; Allison, Jennifer, Heather, Justin, Allie, Ashley, Bradley, Connor, one step granddaughter; Jennifer, and one step great grandson; Jack. Mr. Beard was pre-deceased by five siblings; Ruth Ciabattoni, Jane Moore, Grace Thompson, Doris Ianelli, and Lois Thompson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Cattermole ?" Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday morning, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be in the Veterans Mausoleum at the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 ?" 11:00 AM Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
