Manuel Maldonado Guzman, 80, husband of Edith A. (Mitchell) Guzman, of Gilbertsville, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009, in the Manatawny Manor. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Gummersido A. Guzman and Evangelista Rivera Maldonado.
Mr. Guzman was employed at Mingo Non-Ferrous in Spring City and then as a cupola charger at Eastern Foundry Division of Peerless Industries in Boyertown until his retirement. He was an active member of Grace Independent Baptist Church in New Berlinville and was a member of the GMP Local Union #238-B. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed sports especially the Phillies.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Guzman is survived by his daughter, Gayanne, wife of Sherwood Turner of Oley, son Manuel Mark Guzman of Reading, two grandchildren, Jenna Lynn, wife of Lincoln Edwards and Seth R. Turner, and several nieces and nephews. He was of six brothers and three sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul T. Stevenson. Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
