Margaret Catherine (Miller) Church, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Margaret was predeceased by her mother, Catherine (Ford) Miller; father Edward Miller; Susan, stillborn daughter, and her son Richard D. Gillam.

Surviving are her children, daughter Donna (Gillam) Law and her husband Byron Law of Cape Coral, Florida and her son Edward G. Gillam of Norristown PA.

Peggy worked for several years as a security guard in Phoenixville and was known to the friends of her children and to the many children of friends who she always made time to speak and joke with. People knew she was steadfast in her job by always securing the shopping center she guarded, as well as ensuring the safety and security of the shoppers and their children. Even the teenagers loved to joke with Peggy! Mom had a stellar work ethic.

Peggy loved to have both a flower and vegetable garden. She enjoyed cooking with veggies she grew, and we remember how good her tomatoes always tasted fresh out of the garden. There were always vases of flowers in almost every room of the house. Even after she became ill, her room was filled with flowers.

One of the other things Mom loved, were dachshunds. Her little Duchess was always following after her, and when Duchess had puppies, it was hard for Mom to give them away, but, two neighbors took puppies and so Mom got to see those puppies grow. She was sad when Duchess crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Mom enjoyed attending the ball games of her sons Rick and Ed. She always encouraged them to do the best they could in whatever they wanted to do, whether playing sports or working.

Mom enjoyed getting notes from me when I traveled and I think she kept them all! One of the "jokes" Mom used to do to me, was when she would visit my house, she always had to move things around on the tables or the kitchen counter, and then after she left, I would move those things back where they were!

As Ed and I talked this week about our Mom, we remembered her smile. Everyone in the home loved Peggy and they all loved the way she would greet her nurses and aids with a cheerful, warm and infectious smile and laugh, and she would always tell them "she loved them and they were beautiful". She is missed by her nurses.

But, Mom is already missed by Ed and me. There are many things a daughter and son can say when they lose their Mom, but, the most important thing I can say for Ed and me, is that we loved our Mom and we already miss our "Sweet Margaret". Her constant smile will stay with us as will the love she gave to us.

Interment will be private.
