Margaret B. DiGennaro, 84, of Royersford, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2014, Feast of the Assumption, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Gerald A. DiGennaro, who died in 1991.
She was born in Philadelphia to the late Ralph and Bertha (Berger) Gallo. She earned an Associates Degree in Chemistry from Penn State University. Mrs. DiGennaro was the Lab Manager for Linear, served in the Civil Air Patrol, was on the college swim team and worked as a lifeguard, and sang in the Philadelphia all-high school choir. Margaret volunteered for many years as librarian at Sacred Heart School in Royersford. Margaret was a homemaker and beloved mom.
She was an avid bowler, tennis player and hiker, a talented artist, jeweler, woodworker, seamstress and made beautiful beadwork.
Mrs. DiGennaro is survived by her daughters: Pamela M. DiGennaro, wife of Lt. Col J.R. Reiling, of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary H. DiGennaro, with whom she lived, and Michael J. DiGennaro, of Texas; grandchildren: Sofia and Dominic DiGennaro and Nathan and Grace Reiling; sister, Catherine Lutts, wife of the late William, of Bethlehem, PA and sister-in-law, Doris Gallo, wife of her late brother, Thomas R., of Spring City, PA.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Eleanor R.C. Church, 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA 19426. Calling time is from 9:00-10:15 AM.
