Obituary

Margaret M. Helwig Gibbons, 83, of Limerick, passed away at Seasons Hospice on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent H. and Alice M. (Weinholtz) Gaudy.

Marge worked as a secretary for many years at Barrow-Hoeinstine Insurance Agency. She was a very faith-filled woman and a devout member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Marge also dedicated a lot of her time to the Hospitality Ministry at St. Teresa. In her free time, she could be found out on the green, playing a round of golf. She also loved doing puzzles, playing mahjong, and sipping a good Manhattan. Marge was an avid reader and belonged to a book club. In her earlier days, Margaret enjoyed countless weekend camping trips with her family. Marge loved to spend time surrounded by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an immense love for her family and provided compassionate care to her husband Robert as he battled dementia.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Amy J. (Vincent) Melli, her step-sons, James R. (Patricia McMinn) Gibbons, Fr. John M. Gibbons, William C. (Melene) Gibbons, Richard D. (Nancy) Gibbons, David A. (Paulette) Gibbons, Michael J. (Beth) Gibbons, her siblings; Mark (Karen) Gaudy, and Jeanette Bockstahler, her grandchildren; Erin Melli, Vincent Melli, Jason Gibbons, Jennine Gibbons, Geoffrey Gibbons, Susanna Gibbons, Katie Gibbons, Keith Gibbons, Lauren Miklich, Keira and Margot Gibbons, her great-grandson; Theodore Cherry, and great-grandaughters Morgan Miklich and Reagan Gibbons and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Marge is preceded in death by her first husband Donald Helwig, who passed away in 1995, and her second husband Robert Gibbons, who passed away in 2018.
