Obituary

Margaret L. Kabak, age 83, wife of the late Edward J. Kabak, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 in the Reading Hospital. Born on January 13, 1938 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Donohue) Garber.

Mrs. Kabak was a member of the last graduating class of the Royersford High School. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the Abington Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years in the ICU of Phoenixville Hospital, and was part of the team that opened the Cardiac Care Unit. Following a lengthy career at the hospital, Mrs. Kabak went on to work for PMA in Phoenixville, officially retiring in 2000. Following her retirement, she was active with the Schuylkill Valley Chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation.

A longtime member of the Church of the Epiphany in Royersford, Mrs. Kabak was involved with the women's prayer group. She enjoyed books and attending Broadway plays. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy nightly, completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku puzzles, and was a huge Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies fan. Most of all, Mrs. Kabak loved spending time with her family, especialy the yearly trips to North Wildwood, NJ.

Mrs. Kabak is survived by two children, Edward R., husband of Deborah L. Kabak of Boyertown, PA and Karen M., wife of Edward J. Krier of Spring City, PA; one granddaughter, Kalli M. Krier, companion of Kutter Endy of Spring City, PA; two siblings, Patricia A. Garber of Lebanon, PA and Frederick C. Garber of Lebanon, PA; and close family friend, Wayne M. Bevan. Mrs. Kabak was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph A. Garber.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral ceremony at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be The Rev. Beth W. Hixon. Burial will be held in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422 or the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O.
