Marianne H. (Hespe) Thompson, age 83, wife of the late Silas W. "Si" Thompson II, resident of Shannondell in Audubon, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late George and Helen (O'Malley) Hespe.
Mrs. Thompson was a long time parishioner of St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church in Wayne, PA. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in sociology. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, taking trips and participating in activities with the residents of Shannondell, and was a fan of the Phillies and Eagles.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by four sons, Silas W. "Si" Thompson III, husband of Linda Thompson, Stephen Thompson, Stuart, husband of Mary Thompson, and Scott, husband of Donna Thompson; one brother, William Hespe; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Prior to her husband death in 2012, she enjoyed 56 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 50 W. Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087 on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen A. Moerman. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00-9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a to a charity of one's choice.
