Marie T. Downey, age 90, wife of the late Leo "Pat" Downey, of Philadelphia, PA and more recently Wilmington, NC, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Griffin.

Marie graduated from West Catholic Girls High School and retired from Strawbridge and Clothier Department Store in Philadelphia, where she worked as a merchandising clerk in the drapery department. Marie loved reading, sewing, arts and crafts and spending time with her late beloved sister, Clare Waters.

Marie is survived by children:
Pat (David) Buschmann, James (Toni) Downey, Fran Downey (Jeff Maples), and
Mike (Cheryl) Downey

Grandchildren:
David (Angela) Buschmann, Sean (Jenni) Buschmann, Jim Buschmann
Katie (Dan) Sillitti, Chris Maples, Kyle Maples and Jenny Downey (Jesua Ramirez Mejia)

Great grandchildren :
Brody, Shea, Audrey, Olive, and Connor

And many nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial mass in the St. Joseph R.C. Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Charles O'Hara. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am in the Church.
