Mario P. D'Ercole, 62, husband of Sandra M. (Records) D'Ercole, of Phoenixville, passed away on Thursday evening, October 13, 2011, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Chieti, Italy, he was a son of Silvino D'Ercole of Overbrook Park and the late Felicia (Giacomucci) D'Ercole.
A Purple Heart recipient, Mr. D'Ercole served as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of St. Ann Parish where he served as an usher. He enjoyed watching the History and Military channels.
Most importantly, Mario was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His devotion carried through his hard work, as he was employed for over 30 years at BMW of the Main Line.
In addition to his father and loving wife of 33 years, Mr. D'Ercole is survived by three sons: Silvio P. husband of Sadie D'Ercole, Eric J. D'Ercole, and John J. D'Ercole, all of Phoenixville; grandson: Gavin D'Ercole; sisters: Patricia D'Ercole of Overbrook Park and Sue Reaka of Kansas City, Missouri; brother: Alfonso D'Ercole of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his funeral mass on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in the St. Ann Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. John J. Newns officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken. Friends will be received from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Main Street at Fifth Avenue and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Church.
