Marion L. Swavely, 81, formerly of East Coventry, passed away on Wednesday at Lansdale Hospital. She was the wife of the late Irvin M. Swavely, who died in March 2008.
Born in Spring City, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite (Murray) Wiley. She was employed for many years as a sales clerk at the former McCrory's, Newberry's and Woolworth's Department Stores respectively. She was a member of Coventry Church of the Brethren.
Marion is survived by: one daughter, Cheryl L. Wetzel and her husband Barney, of Boyertown; one son, David L. Swavely and wife Donna, of Pottstown; four grandchildren: Katelyn and Hannah Swavely, Melissa Dougherty and Jason Wetzel; and two great-grandchildren: Damian and Alexia Schmuck. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Wiley and brother, Charles Wiley.
Marion's Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 11 AM at Harmonyville Church of the Brethren, 2037 Harmonyville Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Calling times will be at the church on Sunday evening 7-8:30 PM and Monday morning 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marion's memory to Coventry Church of the Brethren, 946 Keen Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 or Harmonyville Church of the Brethren at the above address.
