Obituary

Marjorie A. Wertz, age 68, wife of James C. Wertz, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at home. Born on November 5, 1952 in Phoenixville, PA, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Madeline R. (Zeleski) Hunter.

Mrs. Wertz was a 1970 graduate of Phoenixville High School. She worked as a cafeteria aide for 25 years at Schuylkill Elementary School, Barkley Elementary School, and the Phoenixville Area Middle School. She was a Dairy Goat Leader for the 4-H club for many years. Mrs. Wertz enjoyed gardening, taking care of animals, and loved her cats, dogs, and farm animals.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, Mrs. Wertz is survived by three children, Beverly A. Bari, Melissa J. Wertz, and Bob Bari; grandchildren, Selina Bari, who was raised as her child, Savannah Foraker, Austin Foraker, Ella Bari, Hunter Bari, and Cooper Bari; one brother, George R. Hunter, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Thomas M. Hunter, George R. Hunter, Jr., Christina Hunter, and Cynthia Hunter; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Navannah Hunter, Leigha Hunter, Maia Hunter, Eric Hunter, Kareem Akremi, and Logan Hunter. Mrs. Wertz was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Hunter, and one nephew, Paul Hunter.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
