Mary Gordon, 94, formerly of Kimberton, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Peter Becker Community in Harleysville, PA. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Gordon. Born in Phoenixville to the late Joseph and Anna Stercula, she graduated from Spring City High School.
Following graduation she worked as a seamstress in the textile mills of Spring City. Later, she became a fixture in Phoenixville working as a salesperson at Straub’s and Clinton R. Mosteller’s, selling women’s wear. She ended her career at the Spring-Ford office of Continental Bank, working as a teller.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed tennis, knitting and was a devoted Phillies fan in her later years.
She is survived by her son William of Harleysville, granddaughters Angela Bauer of Boyertown and Melanie Keating of Rocky Ridge, MD, and great granddaughters, Austyn and Taryn Bauer of Boyertown. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Stercula.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 11 am at St. Basil the Great R.C. Church, 2300 Kimberton Road, Kimberton, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Gary T. Pacitti. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peter Becker Benevolent Fund, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438.
