Mary Hart Van Boven, age 72, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on March 21, 1952, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Barrow) and James Hart.

Mary attended grade school through high school and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Bryn Mawr before attending Chestnut Hill College.

Mary had a deep affection for animals for her entire life. Her love for her son, friends, and animals was incomparable to anything else and she was devastated when her lifelong best friend, Elise Tucci, passed away a few years ago.

In her spare time, Mary enjoyed watching Dr. Phil, lived a very social life, and never shied away from shenanigans, which she always seemed to find a way to get into. She also served on the Homeowners' Association of the Caines Creek neighborhood in Phoenixville.

Mary is survived by her son: Jamie Hart Van Boven; her dog: Charlie; and many friends.

A celebration of Mary's life will be announced for a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to PALS (Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society) at https://www.palscatrescue.org.
