Mary Louise (Heemskerk) Hampton, age 93, of East Vincent, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 in her residence. She was the loving wife of Charles Melvin Hampton Jr., who passed away 3 days prior, and with whom she would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in October. Born on November 21, 1930, in Royersford, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth (Griffin) and Michael Heemskerk.
Mary Louise was a graduate of Royersford High School. She was employed as a teacher's aide for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit for 21 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Royersford and later St. Joseph's Church, Spring City and the Woman's Club of Royersford.
A vibrant and fashionable woman with a quick wit about her, no matter where Mary Louise went, a funny story or situation was sure to follow. Mary Louise was a loving mom, grandmom and great-grandmom who enjoyed relaxing, walking, and time at the family cabin on Promised Land Lake. She was an avid reader, especially enjoying her daily devotions, and loved traveling with her husband; particularly all over Europe.
Mary Louise is survived by her children: David, husband of Carolyn Hampton, Carolyn, wife of Richard Freed, and John, husband of Beth Hampton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters: Diane and Charlotte Hampton; and sisters: Theresa Rosenberger and Virginia Hoff.
