Mary Y. (Smoyer) Matthews, age 69, wife of Roy Matthews, lifelong resident of Royersford, PA, passed away on Sunday morning, April 17, 2011 at home. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Linwood W. and Gladys E. (Rambo) Smoyer.

Mrs. Matthews graduated from Spring-Ford High School. She worked at American Machine and Tool for over 25 years, Philco, and retired from Kensey-Nash. She was a member of the Women's Library Club of Spring City and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Spring City American Legion Post #602. Mrs. Matthews enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with her Sissy, playing bingo, shopping, and traveling.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by two daughters, Robbin, wife of Ernesto Pineda of Pottstown, and Tammy, wife of Gualberto Feliciano of Royersford; one son, Roy Matthews II, husband of Angela, of Royersford; one sister, Joyce “Sissy” Millard of Parkerford; one brother, Linwood W. Smoyer Jr., husband of Sandra, of Royersford; longtime friend Diana Whitesel; eight grandchildren, three foster-grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Deacon David Kubczak. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, April 20, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM, or on Thursday morning, April 21, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 AM.
