Mary Elizabeth McMenamin, age 89, wife of the late George J. McMenamin Sr., of Spring City, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on March 11, 1929 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late John and Marion (Drake) Fort.
Mrs. McMenamin was a 1947 graduate of the Collegeville-Trappe High School, and she was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship in Spring City, which was a big part of her life. She enjoyed all types of puzzles, including picture, jigsaw, and crosswords, as well as baking and cooking. She liked needlepoint, embroidery, and sewing. Music was important to her, and anyone who knew Mary would recognize her from her singing and humming. She enjoyed trivia and game shows on television.
Mrs. McMenamin is survived by two children, Helen M., wife of Richard Frederick of King Of Prussia, PA, George J. McMenamin, Jr. of Boulder Creek, CA; two sisters, Florence R. Biehl and Doris I. Swanson; two brothers, Ralph Fort and David B. Fort; granddaughter, Azarina Lavoie; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Roland, and Curtis; and great-great grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas, and Maverick; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McMenamin was preceded in death by one son, David N. McMenamin and siblings, Peggy, Charles, Bob, and Marion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Road, King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 25 Pennhurst Road, Spring City, PA 19475.
