Mary A. Brooker Somers, better known as Sue, passed away on September 8, 2019, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born July 28, 1936 and attended Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA. An outstanding athlete and student leader, she was vice president of student council, captain of the basketball team and track star.

At 14, she met the love of her life Joseph F. Somers, Jr. They married and welcomed 6 children into their lives: Colleen S. Marzella (the late Douglas), Debbie S. D'Angelo (Bruno), Joseph F. Somers III, Jean S. Earhart (Steven), Tricia Somers and Nicole S. Finelli (Michael). They had 10 Grandchildren: Nicholas, Danielle, Douglas, Christine, Lisa Marie, Steven, Alexis, Isabella, Julianna and Evan, as well as 7 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Adrianna, Melanie Grace, Sabrina, Athena, Nicholas and Aria. She was predeceased by her parents: John and Caroline Brooker, her sister: Jane and is survived by her sisters: Dorothy and Stella, and her treasured nieces: Jenny and Caroline, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Sue relished her roles as wife, mother and Nana. She was also a tireless volunteer at Visitation BVM Church, Sisters of the Poor Homeless Shelter and St. Maximillian Kolbe Church. She was a competitive tennis player, avid skier, and gourmet cook. Sue loved to travel, work in her flower gardens and adored animals, especially the family's dogs. Being with family though was always her favorite pastime.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Sue in her last weeks especially in the Paoli Hospital CCU and Hospice on 4A.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at St. Maximillian Kolbe in West Chester, PA. Family will receive visitors from 9:00 to 10:45 am. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with burial immediately following at St. Agnes Cemetery, 1050 Pottstown Pike, West Chester, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The ALS Association at ALS.org. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc.
