Mary Grace Talley, age 96, wife of the late Harry D. Talley Jr. , son of Marie (Bishop) and Harry D. Talley, Sr. passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 in the Woodbridge Place. Born in Ridley Park, PA, she was the daughter of Anna Rose (Dugan) and Elmer H. Wolfenden.

Mary was a graduated from Glen-Nor (now Interboro) High School where she was on the cheerleading squad in 1947.

Mary is survived by sisters, Bette McKinlay (Oaks Harbor, Washington), Anne Akers (Montreat, North Carolina) and many in-laws, nieces and nephews and other extended family. She is also survived by daughters Lois and husband Frank Cariola, Patricia and husband John Spillane, and Michele and husband Michael Cahill as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Linda and Lisa; brothers Elmer Wolfenden, John Wolfenden, Thomas Wolfenden, and sister Ruth Wolfenden.

As a teenager Mary discovered the she had a gift for sewing. She soon realized that she could make clothes and her sisters, Bette and Anne also enjoyed making clothes with her. She became an accomplished seamstress and this would benefit her future daughters mightily. They would be able to pick out their own fabric and have mom whip up the latest fashions! Mary lovingly devoted herself to this talent all her life and made countless dresses...bride and bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses, theater costumes and Halloween costumes (I don't recall my siblings or myself ever having a "bought" costume) and the ultimate creation, doll clothes. When the grandchildren came along, they too were blessed by Grandmom's skill with a sewing machine. Her hands were seldom still.

Mary loved Jesus Christ and she loved His little children. She served Him faithfully in the Church's Children's Ministry right up to the age of 75. In addition, she also loved Jesus' adult children and was active in Women's ministry encouraging and supporting many women who sought her wise, biblical counsel. She was truly a woman who had "the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. (1 Peter 3:4)

A private family graveside service will be held at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to Samaritan's Purse. www.Samaritanspurse.org
