Mary F. (Cooper) Wark, age 86, wife of the late Samuel G. Wark Jr. formerly of Philadelphia PA, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born on November 15, 1937 in Philadelphia, Mary was a daughter of the late Sophie (Lange) and Thomas Cooper.

Mary was raised in Germantown and, upon her retirement, spent several years in Georgia with her beloved sister, Judy and her family before returning to Pennsylvania to be closer to her son and his family.

A graduate of the Dobbins Technical High School, Philadelphia, Mary spent most of her career as a Kindergarten Aide in the Philadelphia School District. She also taught at a synagogue on Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlework, crocheting jackets, blankets, and sweaters, and cross-stitching tablecloths. She also had an immense love for her cat, Spice.

Mary is survived by her son: Samuel G. Wark III, husband of Dyanne (Armstrong); and three granddaughters: Melissa Koval, wife of Daniel, Michelle Wood, wife of Bryan, and Cynthia Horwath wife of James. Mary also leaves behind three great-grandsons, Ayden and Owen Koval and Landen Wood; a sister: Judy Erhardt; sister-in-law: Linda Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by siblings, Ernest "Buddy" Cooper, and Denise Burkeholder.

A memorial service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 100 West School House Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19144, ATTN: Annual Fund, https://psd.org/donate.
