Mary A. (White) Bitler, 95, of Honey Brook, formerly Warwick Township, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, in the Hickory House Nursing Home. She was the widow of Robert F. Bitler. Born in Bucktown, she was a daughter of the late Oscar "Snap" and Emma (Robinson) White.
Mrs. Bitler was a graduate of Warwick High School. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Knauertown, where she was a Sunday school pianist, a member of the choir and the Dorcas Bible Class and involved in most things at the Church.
A homemaker, she volunteered sewing bed pads for the American Cancer Society and was a 30 year volunteer with Meals On Wheels. Having a lifelong interest in music, she sang, played the piano and while in high school, played the trumpet in the band.
Mrs. Bitler is survived by her children, Jane, wife of Theodore Evans, of Coventryville and James, husband of Nancy Bitler, of Warwick; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Blevins, wife of William Blevins, of Warwick and siblings, Viola Schlipf and James O. White.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter United Church of Christ Knauertown, 1920 Ridge Road, Pottstown. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert A. Meschke. Interment will follow in the Pine Swamp Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday evening, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.
