After a brief illness, MaryAnn (Reese) Herbsleb passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by family at Phoenixville Hospital. She was the wife of almost 55 years to her high school sweetheart, travel companion and soul mate H. William (Bill) Herbsleb. She was sister to Rebecca, wife of Sam Leonard (Spring City); mother to her children Jennifer, wife of Seth Clarke (Pottstown) and her son Jonathan, husband of Theresa (Douglassville); grandmother to her four grandchildren Ryan, Madison, Cory and Annalise; as well as aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Born at the Pottstown Hospital, growing up in Spring City, and a lifelong resident of Royersford, she was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Jean (DePietropaolo) Reese; as well as her in-laws Henry W. and Anna Herbsleb.

She was an active member of the Spring-Ford community throughout her whole life. She was involved with the girl scouts at a young age and stayed active as a leader for many years. She became involved with the various emergency services, such as Spring-Ford Rescue Squad, the former Humane Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and then becoming a volunteer, followed by paid, EMT for the Friendship Fire Co. Ambulance.

She supported her children in their activities, which led her to join the Order of the Eastern Star, Freeland Chapter #323. She held the position of Worthy Matron several times and served on the advisory board for the Order of Rainbow for Girls.

One of her true passions was ancestry, through which she was able to join the Daughters of Union Veterans becoming the National Veterans Affairs Representative. She also volunteered at the canteen of the Southeastern Veterans Center, as well as the Phoenixville Hospital Thrift Shop, serving on its board of directors. She was a member of the Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation.

MaryAnn graduated from Spring-Ford in 1966 and gained an Associate's Degree from Peirce Junior College in 1968. This led her to work at the Valley Forge Military Hospital, Pentagon, and as a substitute teacher at the Western Montgomery County Technical School, before finally retiring from the Myoderm Medical Supply in Norristown.

After retiring, MaryAnn and Bill enjoyed many adventures in their RV, traveling coast to coast and throughout Canada, or just with the local church camping club. She was an avid bingo player/caller, pinochle player with her family, loved crossword puzzles and playing scrabble. Most did not know she played the accordion, sometimes playing duets for church with Bill on his piano. MaryAnn was an amateur poet, creating verse for family and friends for different occasions. She always kept up with her friends and family's activities, whether in person or via Facebook.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Davalt. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received on Thursday night, January 9th, from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM, or on Friday morning from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation to the charity of your choice be made in her honor. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford.
