Matthew Joseph Kendra, age 31, of Roxborough, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Born on April 3, 1992 in Phoenixville, he was a son of Barbara B. (Swiniuch) and Martin J. Kendra and the brother of Eric M. Kendra.

Matthew attended St. Aloysius Elementary School, Pottstown and later graduated from St. Pius X High School, Pottstown, where he played center for the varsity football team. He went on to obtain his bachelor of science degree in allied health from Bloomsburg University. While in college, he served as president of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.

Matthew had been previously employed at Birdsboro Pharmacy, SEI, Power Home Remodeling, ADP Payroll, and currently as a regional sales manager for Lombart Instrument.

Matthew earned his Eagle Scout Rank with Boy Scout Troop 99, Pottstown. A huge sports fan, he especially loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was an avid cyclist and enjoyed golf and listening to music.

In addition to his parents and brother, Matthew is survived by his paternal grandmother: Veronica Kendra; aunt: Janet Swiniuch; uncle: Michael (Karen) Kendra; and cousins: Stephanie Martin and Michelle Guyer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial mass on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:00 am, at St. Thomas More Church, 2101 Pottstown, Pike, Pottstown. Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas Kletzel. Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the Church.
