Mellis S. Murray, 97, formerly of Harmonyville, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Manatawny Manor where she last resided. She was the widow of Herbert L. Murray.

She was born in Philadelphia to the late John C. and Ruth O. (Nyce) Fisher. Mrs. Murray attended the congregations of Harmonyville Church of the Brethren and St. Peter's United Church of Christ-Knauertown. Mellis worked in the food service department of Owen J. Roberts School District, lastly as the middle school cafeteria manager. She also held the distinction of being the unofficial "Mayor of Harmonyville".

She is survived by a daughter Judith Hahn and husband Richard, of Glenmoore; sister, Marion Porter, of Cornelius, OR; brothers: Richard Fisher and wife Ruth, of Pottstown and Robert Fisher and wife Mae, of Boyertown; one grandchild: Richard Hahn Jr. and wife Christine, of Pottstown and two great-grandchildren: Alex and Nicolas.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's UCC-Knauertown, 1920 Ridge Rd (Rt. 23), Pottstown, PA 19465. Officiating will be Rev. John C. Kolle. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling time is on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's UCC-Knauertown, P.O.
