Melvin R. Thomason, age 76, husband of Diana C. (Prematta) Thomason, of Royersford, PA died suddenly in the Phoenixville Hospital on Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010. Mr. Thomason graduated from the Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a professor in pharmacology at the Temple University for over 32 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta R.C. Church in Limerick, PA. Mr. Thomason was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at the Shannondell Golf Club in Audubon.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, Mr. Thomason is survived by three daughters; Kelley A., wife of Bruce Young, of Gilbertsville, PA, Daria B., wife of Nick Bertino, of East Greenville, PA, Shannon C., wife of John Cane, of New Hope, PA, three brothers; Galen (Eve) Thomason, Frank (Laura) Thomason, Vern (the late Margaret) Thomason, four grandchildren; Nick and Adam Bertino, Alex and Ryan Young, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomason was pre-deceased by one brother; Harold Thomason.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta R.C. Church, Linfield Campus, 1228 Main Street, Linfield, PA 19468 on Tuesday morning, June 8, 2010 at 11:00AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Brandt. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00AM Tuesday morning at the Church.
