Michael Bailey died on July 1, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family, after a long illness. He was 35 years old.

Mike was born in Phoenixville Hospital on August 20, 1990. Everyone thought he was the sweetest baby ever (though his older sister Liz thought he spoiled the good thing she had going). He spent his life in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and his summers in the mountains with family, particularly in World's End State Park. He attended Pottsgrove High School, graduating in 2009.

When it came to the things he loved about his life, Mike was a diehard. From his dad, he inherited a love of baseball and a long-suffering Phillies fandom. Much of his youth was spent in catcher's gear behind home plate. Mike was an avid gamer. While he played many video games, his uncontested favorite was the Legend of Zelda series in all its iterations. He loved the band 311 and played their songs on repeat on long drives to the Endless Mountains.

He was a diehard for the people and animals in his life too. He loved and is loved dearly by his whole family. He was an intensely loyal friend. He both kept numerous lifelong friendships from childhood and continually expanded the circle of people who treasured him. He was kind and thoughtful to those around him. He adored animals, big and small, but especially dogs.

Most of all, Mike loved his wife, Katrina. Mike met Katrina in 2015. Together they built a life that was uniquely theirs-full of laughter, inside jokes, adventures, quiet moments, and a love that only grew stronger with time.

He is survived by his wife Katrina Bailey; his father and mother, Lore and Patricia Bailey; his sisters Amy Golie and Elizabeth Bailey; his cousin (more like brother) Kyle Bailey; a large extended family; a large group of close friends; and the best and sweetest girls, Dani and Rory. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Michael and Dorothy Leck and Elizabeth Hill; his uncle and aunt, Linda and Randy Kulp; his uncle, Marr Bailey; and his brother-in-law, Matthew Schaeffer.

The family is foregoing a traditional service at this time. A larger celebration of life for all those who knew and loved Mike will be planned in the coming weeks, with details to follow.

His family deeply thanks Cooper University Hospital, in particular Drs. Godil, Salatz, Clay, Nanduri, Lombardo, Santisi, F. Jovin, and T. Jovin, for the excellent physical and emotional care provided to Mike throughout his illness.
