Michael A. Jalcs Sr. passed away on Saturday evening, April 19, 2025, following complications from surgery. Born on February 1, 1947 in Phoenixville, PA, Mike lived all of his life in Phoenixville until retiring to Rehoboth Beach, DE. He graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1964 and served as an MP in the US Army, receiving his honorable discharge in 1969 following the death of his father.
Mike married Julia "Peggy" M. Keeley in June 1966 and celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last year. They raised two children together, Tina (Mark Kiernan) and Michael Jr. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Joseph Jalcs and Mary Maskulak, and his son Michael. Mike is survived by his wife, daughter, five grandchildren - Candace Jalcs, Tiana (Turner) Tohidi, Tony Jalcs, Alyssa Turner, and Brenna Turner - and a great-granddaughter.
Mike held lengthy careers at both the West Company in Phoenixville and the Valley Forge Sewer Authority in Valley Forge. Following retirement, he and Julia moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Mike was an easy-going guy and a friend to many. He liked to host horseshoe tournaments for friends and coworkers, was an amazing cook, and loved watching the Eagles and Phillies (some years more than others).
Mike never liked being the center of attention, and had stated that he did not want a public viewing or funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Henlopen American Legion Post 5, 300 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville, PA. Condolences may be offered by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
