Michael Jugan Jr., age 87, husband of Jane B Jugan and the late Kathryn Godshalk Jugan passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 26,2012. Born in Webster, PA he was a son of the late Michael Sr. and Mary Jugan.
Mr. Jugan was a member of East Vincent United Church of Christ. He served his country during World War II in the 63rd Infantry Division of the Army as a medic. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained during the Battle of the Bulge and was treated at Valley Forge Army Hospital. Mr. Jugan was a lifetime member of several Veterans organizations. He was a charter member of the Kimberton Lion's Club, was a member of Mt. Pickering Masonic Lodge #446, and served as Chaplain and a past-Master of the Kimberton Grange. Mr. Jugan worked as a sheep farmer, auctioneer, and operated his own barber shop in Kimberton for over 50 years. He enjoyed time with his family and providing sheep shearing shows for school children.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jugan is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Kenneth) Batdorf; step children Fred (Carol) Batdorf and Margaret (Peter) Hodgson; grandchildren Jenna (Jason) Mansure and Chad (Julia Andreoli) Batdorf; step-grandchildren Emily, Megan, and Mackenzie Hodgson, Molly and Tim Batdorf; great grandchildren Riley, Ava and Marcus Mansure; siblings Charles Jugan, Gladys (Steve) Jula, Helen Hart, Mildred (Melvin) Muir, George (Irene )Jugan, Fredrick Donald (Yvonne) Jugan; sister-in-law Jenny Jugan; brother-in-law Frank Sheary; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings John, Andrew, Joe, Irene Sheary and Mary Jugan; sisters-in-law Catherine Jugan and Fran Jugan; and brother-in-law Bob Hart.
Funeral services will be held at East Vincent United Church of Christ, 282 Hill Church Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Rick Hostetter and the Rev. Katherine E. Davidheiser. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Monday, July 30,2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM or at the church Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 AM.
