Michael J. Morris Jr., age 77, husband of Diana M. (Souvigney) Morris, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in the Bryn Mawr Hospital. Born on January 18, 1939 in Lower Merion Township, he was a son of the late Michael Sr. and Marie (McMullen) Morris.
Mr. Morris was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Wayne, where he had a strong faith and was a member of The Legion of Mary. Mr. Morris retired as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a graduate of Lower Merion High School, St. Joseph's University, and the Temple Law School. Mr. Morris was an Attorney for the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, operated his own private practice law firm for forty years, and was Deputy Court Administrator for the Magisterial District Judges. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Morris enjoyed hunting and fishing, but spending time with his family and caring for his wife were his true passions.
Mr. Morris is survived by one son, Michael J. Morris III, husband of Deborah of Ann Arbor, MI; three daughters, Colleen Poe of West Chester, PA, Lisa Pignataro of Phoenixville, PA, and Jenna Graham, wife of Jeff of West Palm Beach, FL; two siblings, J. Robert Morris, husband of Jane of Haverford, PA and Mary Lou Morris of St. Peters, Australia; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter...Bubbles; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 50 W. Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen A. Moerman. Burial will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Thursday at the church.
