Monica Bernadette Liebman's Obituary
Monica Bernadette Liebman, age 60, of Cheltenham, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born on March 7, 1960 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Anibal and Anna Marie (Barrella) Artiles.
Monica was a 1978 graduate of St. Leonard's Academy in Philadelphia. She received her Associate degree in nursing in 1980, followed by her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1984, both from Gwynedd-Mercy College. Monica completed her MSN from Widener University in 1991, and her postgraduate studies from LaSalle University. in December of 2003, she received her legal nurse consultant certificate from Manor College in Jenkintown. She worked at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for over 35 years, first as a pediatric trauma nurse, and more recently in the Emergency Services department. Over the years, she was active in keeping her nursing skills as sharp as possible through many different continuing education routes. Monica had a special passion for developing as much knowledge for, and supporting research in, various autism foundations.
Monica is survived by two sons, Matthew S., husband of Cheyonne Liebman of Philadelphia, PA and Daniel A. Liebman of Glenside, PA; one granddaughter, Arie Liebman; two siblings, Zonia "Sunny" (Artiles) Dougherty, wife of Thomas of Royersford, PA and Ronald Artiles of Plainfield, NJ; one niece, Jennifer (Dougherty) Whoriskey, wife of Michael and five nephews, David Dougherty, Andrew, husband of Michelle Dougherty, Stephen, husband of Nicole Dougherty, Gregory, husband of Erica Artiles, and Rodney, husband of Camilla Artiles; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private memorial mass and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, Second Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540. Condolences may be made by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, Pennsylvania.
